Uto, the Golden Retriever
Uto, the first dog treated with CV-MG01, was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis at 9 months and responded quickly to treatment: marked improvement within 2 to 3 weeks, complete remission within 5 to 6 weeks. More than 24 months later, he remains symptom-free and leads an active, happy life.
The disease
Canine myasthenia gravis
A serious autoimmune disease that weakens the connection between nerves and muscles and sharply reduces the animal's quality of life. It is the same disease as in humans, but it often proves fatal for our four-legged friends.
- Severe muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing and breathing, loss of mobility.
- Costly care, lengthy treatments, and a heavy emotional burden for owners.
- Current options are limited, mostly symptomatic, and rarely offer lasting control or remission.
- At least 3,000 dogs treated each year in Europe and North America, with many more likely going undiagnosed."
The proof
Game-changing results
In 20 dogs with spontaneous myasthenia gravis treated under real-world conditions, Targeted Active Therapy showed a remarkable effect with a reported 75% remission rate (Galin et al., 2007) that compares very favorably to the 18% remission rate of dogs receiving standard-of-care treatments (Dos Santos et al., 2025).

Training immunity, not suppressing it altogether
Rather than dampening the entire immune system (as conventional treatments do, at the cost of side effects such as an increased risk of infection), Targeted Active Therapy teaches the dog's body to produce protective antibodies. These specifically neutralize the responsible autoantibodies while leaving the rest of the immune system intact.
Understand the mechanismA regulatory window
Since September 2024, the European regulation on veterinary medicinal products (EU 2019/6) has made it easier to develop treatments for rare animal diseases (fewer than 0.5 % of animals). CV-MG01 has obtained from the EMA the status of immunological veterinary medicinal product (IVMP) for limited markets, opening a potentialy faster authorization pathway.
