Celebrating Uto’s Two Years Symptom-Free

In 2024, Uto, a dog suffering from canine myasthenia gravis, successfully completed a 3-dose course of Targeted Active Therapy. He quickly achieved complete remission with no relapse or adverse effects. Let’s celebrate these two years of restored health!

Celebrating Uto’s Two Years Symptom-Free

Uto was the first dog to receive CV-MG01, CuraVac’s treatment for canine myasthenia gravis, under compassionate use. Seeing his health and energy decline, his owners agreed to enroll their then only 9-month-old puppy in a 3-dose course of the pioneering immunization therapy.

Before receiving the first injection, the young Golden Retriever barely managed to stay on his feet. In a matter of days, the first signs of recovery encouraged Uto’s family and CuraVac’s team to continue the course of Targeted Active Therapy with optimism. Following a second injection, he was able to run and, after completing the treatment in six weeks, regained a completely normal life.

To this day, Uto has remained symptom-free. As CV-MG01’s first in vivo subject, he has paved the way for a durable treatment for canine myasthenia gravis. Supporting his path to remission has been a rewarding experience for CuraVac’s team. Let’s celebrate two years of good health and happiness, and wish him many more to come!
